In the 1970's, it was bell-bottoms and mini-skirts. In the 1980's and 1990's, it was business suits most of the time. In the 2000's, it's hiking, biking, kayaking, and aerobics gear. When we moved to Arkansas, Kay accused me of moving her to Antartica. But she has adapted to the cooler weather, wearing layer upon layer of clothing. On a hike that starts at 30 degrees and gets warmer as we go, Kay may shed 3 or 4 layers of clothes and still have several layers to spare. "The Big Coat" pictured below is Kay's favorite -- it's heavy, long, and hooded. She's had that coat over 20 years and still wears it. (Although we had to have it re-lined.) |
